AZO® Urinary Pain Relief Maximum Strength is an over-the-counter urinary tract analgesic formulated for fast, temporary relief of urinary pain, burning, urgency, and frequency associated with urinary tract infections (UTIs).

Each tablet contains 99.5 mg Phenazopyridine Hydrochloride, a urinary tract analgesic that acts directly in the urinary tract to relieve discomfort. The manufacturer states that relief may begin in as little as 20 minutes.

How to Use

Adults & Children 12 Years and Older

Take 2 tablets 3 times daily, with or after meals, as needed for up to 2 days.

Take each dose with a full glass of water.

Do not use for more than 2 days (12 tablets) without consulting a doctor.

Phenazopyridine is a urinary pain reliever, not an antibiotic. AZO Maximum Strength can temporarily relieve pain, burning, urgency, and frequency while the underlying cause is being evaluated or treated, but it does not cure a urinary tract infection.

What to Expect

Phenazopyridine normally causes urine to become reddish-orange. This color change is expected and is not harmful, but it can stain clothing and other materials.

The product may also stain soft contact lenses and can interfere with certain laboratory tests, including urine glucose and ketone tests.

Storage

Store at 59–86°F (15–30°C) in a dry place and protect from light.
