Berberil® Dry Eye is a lubricating eye-drop solution containing hypromellose for the symptomatic treatment of dry eyes.

The lightweight, easy-to-instill solution acts as an artificial tear substitute, helping moisturize the surface of the eye and relieve symptoms associated with insufficient tear production or an unstable tear film. Bausch + Lomb particularly recommends Berberil Dry Eye for milder dry-eye symptoms.

The 0.6 mL EDO single-dose container therefore contains 1.92 mg hypromellose.

How Hypromellose Works

Hypromellose is a water-binding polymer used as an artificial tear substitute. It helps form a lubricating layer over the ocular surface, supporting moisture retention and reducing discomfort associated with dry eyes.

Each opened single-dose container should be used immediately and discarded after use; remaining solution should not be saved.

Contact Lens Use

For the standard 10 mL Berberil Dry Eye bottle, hard contact lenses may be moistened with the drops. Soft contact lenses should be removed before application and reinserted approximately 15 minutes later.

The preservative-free Berberil Dry Eye EDO® formulation can be used for rewetting both hard and soft contact lenses.

Contains no preservative.

How to Use

Instill into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye according to the package directions or the recommendations of a healthcare professional.

Avoid touching the dropper tip directly to the eye, eyelid, fingers or other surfaces.

If using other ophthalmic medications, follow the recommended interval between different eye products.

Important Information

• For ophthalmic use only.
• Do not use if allergic to hypromellose or another ingredient.
• Do not allow the dropper tip to touch the eye or other surfaces.
• Soft contact lenses must be removed before using the standard 10 mL formulation and can be reinserted after approximately 15 minutes.
• The preservative-free EDO formulation is suitable for both hard and soft contact lenses.
• Persistent eye pain, significant redness, vision changes, discharge or worsening symptoms should be evaluated by an eye-care professional.

The standard 10 mL bottle is usable for up to 6 weeks after opening. The preservative-free EDO containers are single-use and must be discarded after opening.
