BIOMO-lipon® 600 mg is a sterile injectable solution containing alpha-lipoic acid (thioctic acid), a naturally occurring antioxidant that helps protect nerve cells from oxidative stress and supports normal nerve metabolism. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of diabetic polyneuropathy, helping relieve symptoms such as numbness, tingling, burning sensations, and pain associated with diabetic nerve damage. Initial treatment is typically administered intravenously, followed by oral alpha-lipoic acid therapy.

Directions

Use only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.

Adults:

• The usual dose is 1 ampoule (600 mg) once daily.
• The concentrate is diluted in 250 mL of isotonic saline and administered by intravenous infusion over at least 30 minutes.
• Initial treatment is generally continued for 2–4 weeks, followed by 300–600 mg of oral alpha-lipoic acid daily, as directed by a healthcare professional.

Warnings

• Use only under medical supervision.
• For intravenous administration only after proper dilution.
• Do not use if allergic to alpha-lipoic acid or any ingredient in the product.
• Blood glucose levels should be monitored in patients with diabetes, as alpha-lipoic acid may enhance the effect of antidiabetic medications.

Storage
