Anaesthesulf Lotio is a German topical suspension with a mild local anesthetic and anti-itch effect. It is used to help relieve itching of the skin, including itching associated with conditions such as chickenpox (varicella) and shingles (herpes zoster). The product is suitable for infants, children, and adults, except premature infants in the first weeks of life.
The lotion contains lauromacrogol 400 (formerly called polidocanol) 8 g per 100 g, along with zinc oxide and other excipients. It is supplied as a white suspension for external use on the skin.

Directions for Use
Shake the bottle well before use.
Unless otherwise directed, apply a thin layer 1–3 times daily to the itchy skin areas using a cotton pad.
The suspension may also be applied over larger skin areas.
Before reapplying, previous residue may be gently dabbed off with a damp cloth or rinsed away with lukewarm water.
In children, do not use for longer than 1 week.
In adults, do not use for longer than 1 week without medical advice.
Avoid contact with the eyes.
Do not use in premature infants during the first weeks of life. The product contains propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation in some individuals.
