Description

Mucinex DM 12-Hour Extended Release Tablets provide long-lasting relief from chest congestion and cough associated with the common cold, bronchitis, and minor respiratory tract irritation. The bi-layer extended-release formulation combines an expectorant to loosen and thin mucus with a cough suppressant to help control coughing for up to 12 hours.

Indications

Temporarily relieves:

Active Ingredients

Each extended-release tablet contains:

• Guaifenesin 600 mg – Expectorant
• Dextromethorphan HBr 30 mg – Cough Suppressant

Directions

Adults and children 12 years and older:

• Take 1–2 tablets every 12 hours.
• Do not exceed 4 tablets in 24 hours.

Children under 12 years:

• Do not use.
• Take with a full glass of water.
• Drink plenty of fluids while using this product.
• Do not crush, chew, or break tablets.

Warnings

• Do not use if taking a prescription MAOI or within 14 days of stopping one.
• Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
• Ask a healthcare professional before use if you have:
  • Persistent or chronic cough
  • Asthma
  • Chronic bronchitis
  • Emphysema
• Stop use and consult a healthcare professional if:
  • Cough lasts more than 7 days
  • Symptoms worsen
