Nystaderm Oral Gel – 25 g

Nystaderm Oral Gel is an antifungal agent containing nystatin, used to treat yeast (Candida) infections of the oral cavity (oral thrush). It is designed to adhere to the mucous membranes to help eliminate fungal overgrowth and support symptomatic relief.

Active Ingredient

• Nystatin – 100 000 IU per 1 g of gel (equivalent to the medicated strength commonly used for oral candidiasis)

Indications

Used for treatment of:
• Candida albicans–induced oral thrush (yeast infection of the mouth)
• Fungal infections of the oral mucosa sensitive to nystatin
Nystatin is a yeast-specific antifungal that works locally in the mouth without significant systemic absorption.

How to Use

Adults & children ≥ 2 years:
• Apply 1 g of gel (approximately 1 measuring spoon) to the affected areas 3–6 times daily; in more severe cases, application may be repeated every 2 hours.
• Place the gel in the mouth, leave it in contact with the mucosa for several minutes, and then swallow.
• For best effect, the gel can be spread onto the affected areas with a cotton swab before swallowing.

Infants and children 4 weeks to < 2 years:
• Apply ½ – 1 g gel in the mouth before and after meals; ensure it stays in contact with the mucosa as long as possible.

Duration of Use:
• Continue treatment for at least 2 days after symptoms have resolved.
• Do not exceed 28 days of continuous use without medical advice.
