What Is Sodium Hyaluronate?
Sodium hyaluronate is a form of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in synovial fluid.
Healthy synovial fluid helps:
- Lubricate joint surfaces
- Reduce friction during movement
- Absorb mechanical shock
- Support smooth and comfortable joint movement
In osteoarthritis and other degenerative joint conditions, the quality and viscoelastic properties of synovial fluid may deteriorate. Intra-articular hyaluronic acid products such as OSTENIL PLUS are designed to supplement the synovial environment.
Uses
OSTENIL PLUS is intended for the treatment of pain and restricted mobility associated with degenerative and traumatic changes in synovial joints, including osteoarthritis.
It may be used in joints such as the:
- Knee
- Hip
- Shoulder
- Ankle
- Other synovial joints when clinically appropriate
Directions for Use
For intra-articular injection only.
OSTENIL PLUS must be administered by a qualified healthcare professional experienced in intra-articular injections.
The manufacturer's treatment regimen generally consists of one injection into the affected joint. When clinically necessary, treatment may be repeated according to the product instructions and healthcare professional's assessment.
The syringe is intended for single use only.
OSTENIL PLUS vs. Regular OSTENIL
OSTENIL PLUS provides a higher concentration of sodium hyaluronate than standard OSTENIL formulations.
OSTENIL PLUS:
