Ammonia-anise drops are a traditional expectorant oral medicine used in the complex treatment of respiratory tract conditions accompanied by difficult sputum production. The combination of ammonia solution and anise oil helps stimulate bronchial secretions and facilitates the removal of mucus from the airways.

These drops are commonly used during productive cough, bronchitis, and inflammatory respiratory illnesses as supportive therapy.

Active Ingredients 

• Anise oil – approx. 2.8 g per 100 ml

• Ammonia solution 10% – 15 ml per 100 ml
  (equivalent to about 1.5 g ammonia)

• Ethanol (90%) – excipient up to 100 ml

Indications

Traditionally used in complex therapy of:

• Acute and chronic bronchitis

• Cough with viscous sputum

• Inflammatory respiratory diseases

• Conditions requiring expectorant support

How to Use

• Usually taken orally in diluted form

• Typical adult dose: 10–15 drops diluted in water, 2–3 times daily

• Children: 1 drop per year of age, diluted

• Adequate warm fluid intake is recommended during therapy

• Do not take undiluted (may irritate mucous membranes)

• Possible adverse effects:
