Bepanthen® Eye and Nose Ointment (Bepanthen Augen- und Nasensalbe) is a sterile pharmaceutical ointment containing 5% dexpanthenol (50 mg/g). It is formulated to support the healing and regeneration of superficial damage to the conjunctiva, cornea, and nasal mucous membranes.

Dexpanthenol, a provitamin of vitamin B5, supports normal tissue regeneration while helping maintain moisture in sensitive, irritated mucosal surfaces.

The ointment can be used for both eye and nasal applications. However, once a tube has been used in the nose, it must not subsequently be used in the eye because sterility can no longer be assured.

Active Ingredient

Indications

Bepanthen Eye and Nose Ointment is used to support the healing of:

Eye

• Superficial damage to the conjunctiva

It may be particularly useful when delicate nasal tissue becomes dry, irritated, or damaged from environmental conditions or repeated nose blowing.

Directions

For Eye Use

Apply approximately a 1 cm strand of ointment into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye one or more times daily, as directed.

• Wash hands before application.
• Remove contact lenses before using the ointment.
• Avoid touching the eye or other surfaces with the tube tip.
• Temporary blurred vision may occur immediately after application. Wait until vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.

For Nasal Use

Apply approximately a 1 cm strand into each nostril, one or more times daily as needed, and gently massage the sides of the nose to distribute the ointment.

Important Hygiene Rule

Do not use the same tube for the eyes after it has already been used in the nose.

For customers who need the product for both areas, using separate tubes for the eye and nose is the safest approach.
