Buscopan is an antispasmodic medicine: it helps relax smooth muscles in the gastrointestinal, urinary, and biliary tracts.
Active ingredient: hyoscine butylbromide, 10 mg per tablet.

What It’s Used For

Buscopan is used to relieve symptoms such as:

Abdominal cramps / stomach pain from spasms.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) symptoms (especially cramps).
Cramps in the bowel / gut. Occasionally for bladder spasm or other smooth muscle spasms.

Dosage & How to Take It

Patient / Use	Typical Dose
Adults & children ≥ 12 years	1 tablet, 3 times a day; may increase to 2 tablets, up to 4 times a day if needed.
Children 6-11 years	Usually 1 tablet, 3 times a day.
Children under 6 years	Not generally recommended.

Tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.
Buscopan can be taken with or without food.
Duration: do not use continuously for extended periods (e.g., more than 2 weeks) unless under medical supervision.
