What is Cerucal

•  antiemetic / prokinetic — it increases gastrointestinal motility and blocks dopamine (and some serotonin) receptors to reduce nausea and vomiting. 

Indications (What it’s used for)

Cerucal is used for:

• Symptomatic relief of nausea and vomiting from varied causes (post-operative, chemotherapy, migraines, etc.)

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and reflux esophagitis 

• Delayed gastric emptying / gastroparesis (e.g. in diabetic patients) Motility disorders of the upper GI tract (atrophy, atony, hypotonia)

• To aid in certain diagnostic/therapeutic procedures (e.g. to speed gastric emptying before X-ray contrast studies)
