Description
Ketotifen Sopharma belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines (antiallergics). It prevents the release of histamine and other substances that are formed in the body during allergies. When used alone, it does not affect asthma attacks. With prolonged treatment, it prevents the onset of attacks, reduces their duration and strength, and in some cases they disappear completely.
It is used as an additional agent in the long-term treatment of mild atopic (allergic) bronchial asthma; symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions, including allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal mucosa) and conjunctivitis (inflammation of the eye membrane). Ketotifen Sopharma has no effect on asthma attacks.
