What It Is
Lugol’s Solution with Glycerin is a topical antiseptic herbal-chemical solution containing iodine and potassium iodide dissolved in glycerin. Unlike pure aqueous Lugol’s iodine, the glycerin base provides a gentler local application, traditionally used for soothing and cleansing mucous membranes of the throat and mouth. The iodine component has antimicrobial action against many bacteria and microbes.

Uses & Indications
Traditionally used to help support:
• Relief of infectious or inflammatory irritation of the throat and pharynx (e.g., sore throat, tonsillitis, pharyngitis) by local antiseptic action.
• Soothing and cleansing inflamed mucous membranes in the mouth and throat.
• Application to affected areas with a swab to support comfort during mild irritation.
• Traditional use in infectious oral cavity problems like stomatitis or angular cheilitis.

Ingredients
• Iodine — antibacterial and antiseptic agent.
• Potassium iodide — helps iodine dissolve and enhances antimicrobial action.
• Glycerin (glycerol) — soothing base to soften and moisturize local tissues.
• Water and other stabilizers (varies by manufacturer).

Dosing / How to Use
• External use only. Not for swallowing or internal ingestion.
• Soak a sterile cotton swab or applicator with the solution.
• Gently apply to the affected mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, or tonsils up to 4–6 times daily or as needed for soothing comfort.
• Avoid contact with eyes, and do not inhale the solution.
• If irritation becomes pronounced or persists beyond a few days, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
