Iron is often absorbed best on an empty stomach, but it may be taken with food if stomach upset occurs.
Avoid taking iron within 2 hours of antacids, calcium supplements, dairy products, tea, coffee, or certain antibiotics, as these may reduce absorption.
My husband had a stroke 5 1/2 years ago. He has continued to decline cognitively. Great supplement! I use it several months, no side effects, it helping well with diarrhea, taking it two times a day with food. It is my saver until gastroenterologist trying to find the reason of my issue.
