MICLAST® 80 mg/g Medicated Nail Lacquer is a topical antifungal medication containing ciclopirox 8%, indicated for the first-line treatment of mild to moderate fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) affecting fingernails and toenails without involvement of the nail matrix. Ciclopirox penetrates the nail plate, helping eliminate dermatophytes, yeasts, molds, and certain bacteria associated with nail infections. The water-resistant lacquer forms a transparent film that delivers the active ingredient directly into the nail.

• Ciclopirox 80 mg (8%)

Indications

For the treatment of:

• Mild to moderate fungal nail infections (onychomycosis)
• Fingernail fungus
• Toenail fungus
• Nail infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds

For adults with infections without nail matrix involvement.

Directions

Adults:

• Before starting treatment, trim the affected nail(s) as short as possible and file away any loose or damaged nail material.
• Apply a thin layer once daily, preferably in the evening, to the entire affected nail, including the underside of the nail if accessible.
• Allow the lacquer to dry completely.
• Remove the accumulated lacquer once every 7 days using alcohol, then trim and file the nail again before continuing treatment.
• Continue treatment until healthy nail growth replaces the infected nail, which may require up to 6 months for fingernails and 9–12 months for toenails.

• Do not use on the eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.
• Do not use if allergic to ciclopirox or any ingredient in the product.
• Avoid using cosmetic nail polish or artificial nails during treatment.
