Antiscabiosum® 25% Emulsion is a topical antiparasitic medication formulated for the treatment of scabies (Sarcoptes scabiei infestation) in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older. It contains benzyl benzoate 25%, which kills scabies mites, their larvae, and eggs. The emulsion is applied directly to the skin and has been used for decades as an effective treatment for scabies.

Indications

For the topical treatment of:

Directions

Adults and adolescents (12 years and older):

• Shake well before use.
• Apply the emulsion to the entire body from the neck down to the toes, paying special attention to skin folds, finger and toe webs, wrists, armpits, groin, and other affected areas.
• Apply once daily for 3 consecutive days.
• Shower or bathe thoroughly before the first application and after the fourth day to remove the medication.
• Change and wash clothing, towels, and bed linens during treatment to reduce the risk of reinfestation.

Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, mucous membranes, and open or irritated skin.

Warnings

• For external use only.
• Do not use if allergic to benzyl benzoate or any ingredient in the product.
• Not recommended for children under 12 years (a lower-strength pediatric formulation is available).
• Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and broken or severely irritated skin.
• May cause temporary burning, stinging, redness, or skin irritation.
• Avoid excessive sun exposure during treatment.
