Aleve® is a long-lasting pain reliever and fever reducer containing naproxen sodium 220 mg, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Just one caplet can provide pain relief for up to 12 hours, making it a convenient option for managing everyday aches and pains, including arthritis pain, back pain, headaches, muscle aches, toothaches, and menstrual cramps.

Indications

Temporarily relieves:

• Minor arthritis pain
• Backache

Temporarily reduces fever.

Directions

Adults and children 12 years and older:

• Take 1 caplet every 8–12 hours while symptoms last.
• For the first dose, you may take 2 caplets within the first hour.
• Do not exceed 2 caplets in any 8–12 hour period.
• Do not exceed 3 caplets in 24 hours.

Children under 12 years:

• Ask a healthcare professional before use.

Warnings

• Contains an NSAID.
• May increase the risk of stomach bleeding, heart attack, heart failure, or stroke.
• Do not use if you have had an allergic reaction to aspirin or other NSAIDs.
• Do not use immediately before or after heart surgery.
• Ask a healthcare professional before use if you have ulcers, bleeding disorders, high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney disease, or take blood thinners.
• Keep out of reach of children.
