Glucose 5% B. Braun Ecoflac® Plus is a sterile intravenous infusion solution containing 5% glucose (dextrose) in water for injection. It is used for the administration of fluids and carbohydrates, as a carrier solution for compatible intravenous medications, and to provide a source of calories during intravenous therapy. The solution is supplied in the Ecoflac® Plus closed infusion system, designed to reduce contamination risk and improve handling safety.

Active Ingredient

Each 500 mL bottle contains:

• Anhydrous Glucose (Dextrose): 25 g
  (equivalent to approximately 27.5 g glucose monohydrate)

Concentration: 5% w/v glucose solution.

• Supply of water and carbohydrates during IV therapy
• Prevention and treatment of dehydration when glucose administration is appropriate

Directions

Warnings

• For intravenous use only.

  • Electrolyte imbalances
• Monitoring of blood glucose and electrolytes may be necessary during administration.
• Do not use if the solution is cloudy or the container is damaged.
• Single-use container only. Discard any unused portion.
