📋 Pharmacology / Uses

• The active ingredient is aescin (20 mg per tablet) — derived from horse chestnut — used for its venotonic / anti-edema / anti-inflammatory properties 

• Indications include:

  • Venous diseases of the legs (leg vein insufficiency) 

  • Swelling of traumatic origin (e.g. after injury) 

  • Flare-ups of hemorrhoids (in some formulations)

📖 Dosage & Administration

• The initial / loading dose in adults is typically 2 tablets, 3 times a day (i.e. 6 tablets/day) followed by a maintenance dose of 1 tablet, 3 times a day after meals 

• The tablets are gastroresistant / enteric-coated (to pass the stomach and dissolve in intestine) 

• In adolescents 12–14 years of age, the dose may be lower: 1 tablet 2–3 times daily 

• It is not indicated in children under 12 years in many regions 

• Use beyond 2 months should be re-evaluated by a physician
