Sudafed PE Sinus Congestion Maximum Strength is a non-drowsy nasal decongestant formulated to provide temporary relief from sinus pressure, sinus congestion, and nasal congestion associated with the common cold, hay fever, and upper respiratory allergies. Each tablet contains phenylephrine HCl 10 mg to help reduce nasal swelling and improve breathing comfort.

How It Works

Directions

Adults and children 12 years and older:

• Take 1 tablet every 4 hours as needed.
• Do not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours.

Children under 12 years:

Warnings

• Do not use if taking a prescription MAOI medication or within 14 days of stopping one.
• Ask a healthcare professional before use if you have:
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Thyroid disease
  • Difficulty urinating due to enlarged prostate
• Stop use and consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist or worsen.

Recent FDA advisory reviews have questioned the effectiveness of oral phenylephrine for nasal congestion. Many pharmacists consider pseudoephedrine-containing Sudafed products more effective for significant sinus congestion when appropriate.
