Description

Tetracycline 1% Eye Ointment is an ophthalmic antibiotic formulated for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eyes and eyelids caused by susceptible microorganisms. Containing tetracycline 1%, it helps inhibit bacterial growth, reducing redness, swelling, discharge, and discomfort while supporting the natural healing process.

The ointment formulation provides prolonged contact with the eye surface, allowing the active ingredient to remain in place longer for effective local antibacterial action.

Directions for Use

Use only as directed by a healthcare professional.

  • Wash your hands before application.
  • Pull the lower eyelid down gently and apply a 0.5–1 cm strip of ointment into the lower conjunctival sac.
  • Close the eye gently for 1–2 minutes after application.

Typical treatment schedules may include:

  • Blepharitis / Blepharoconjunctivitis: 3–4 times daily for 5–7 days
  • Keratitis / Keratoconjunctivitis: 2–3 times daily for 5–7 days
  • Stye (Hordeolum / Meibomitis): Once daily at bedtime until healed
  • Trachoma: Every 2–4 hours initially, followed by 2–3 times daily as directed by a healthcare professional

Treatment duration depends on the condition and clinical response.
